Almost disaster in 2023
At Silverstone 2023, Chris cemented his legacy not as a racing legend, but as the BBQ Bandit of Camp Mortal Man. It all started innocently enough—sausages sizzling, beers flowing, and Chris proudly manning the grill like a suburban Gordon Ramsay. But fate (and about two litres of cooking fat) had other plans. In a moment of culinary chaos, a rogue flame kissed the grease tray, and WHOOSH—spontaneous combustion! The BBQ erupted like a fireworks finale, sending marshmallows, tongs, and Chris’s dignity skyward. Thankfully, no tents were harmed (just slightly smoked and snapped), and Chris earned a new nickname: Le Hombré Flambé Flameout of Silverstone.
